Terms of Service

Last updated: 1 November 2026

In an emergency, call your local emergency number or the nearest Kenyan embassy as well as using Viglant Go. We cannot promise that an alert will arrive or that help will reach you in time.

1. These terms

These terms are an agreement between you and [Company legal name], based in Kenya ("Viglant", "we", "us"). They cover the Viglant Go Android app, the web app at app.viglantgo.com and this website (the "service"). By using the service you accept them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 18 and able to make this agreement, and you confirm this when you sign up. Keep your password and PIN secret. You are responsible for what is done through your account, unless someone used it without your permission. Tell us straight away if you think that has happened.

3. What Viglant Go does

  • Job checks. We review a job offer against licence registers, contract rules and your documents, and give you a risk result.
  • My documents. Private copies of your documents, with expiry reminders.
  • My journey. Your timeline, journal, arrival check-ins, airport meet-up and danger zone alerts.
  • SOS and alerts. Alerts to our safeguarding team and your emergency contacts.
  • Get help. Guides, embassy and authority contacts, help requests and case files.

We are not a recruitment agency, employer, law firm, government body or emergency service. We do not find jobs or place workers.

4. Job check results are a guide

A result is our opinion, based on what you gave us and what we could find at the time. A low result does not guarantee that a job, agency or employer is safe or genuine, and a high result is not a legal finding that anyone did wrong. Registers and offers change, and people can lie or forge documents.

You decide whether to pay a fee, sign a contract or travel. We are not part of any agreement between you and an agency or employer, and we are not responsible for what they do.

5. Safety features have limits

SOS, location, text messages and notifications depend on your phone, its battery and settings, your network, and other companies' services. Some can fail or be delayed, especially where signal is poor. Our team and the embassies, authorities and organisations we contact cannot guarantee a rescue, an outcome or a response time, and they decide their own actions.

Contact details and guides are provided to help you. We work to keep them correct, but they can go out of date, so check them when you can.

6. Subscriptions and payments

  • SOS, Get Help and embassy contacts are always free. A subscription is needed only to send job checks to our team, and only when we have subscriptions switched on.
  • Current plans, prices and periods are shown in the app before you pay. Payment is by M-Pesa, including from someone else's phone if you choose. Your subscription starts when M-Pesa confirms payment.
  • Subscriptions do not renew automatically. Each period is a new payment that you approve. If you buy again while a subscription is active, the new period starts when the current one ends.
  • A subscription pays for access and our review. It does not guarantee a particular result or a review time.
  • If you were charged in error, or paid and your subscription did not start, contact us with the M-Pesa reference and we will look into it and put it right. Nothing here limits your rights under Kenyan consumer law.

7. Your responsibilities

You agree:

  • to give true information, as far as you know it, and not to pretend to be someone else;
  • to upload only material you have the right to share, and to tell people before adding their details;
  • to follow the law on recording where you are. Recording other people without their agreement can be illegal, so record only yourself or ask them first;
  • to use SOS and alerts only for real needs, because false alerts take help away from others;
  • not to make false reports about any person or company;
  • not to break, overload, copy in bulk or try to get around the security of the service, or use it for anything illegal.

You can be held responsible by others for what you say about them, so report what you know to be true.

8. Your content

What you add stays yours. You allow us to store and use it as far as needed to run the service, as our Privacy Policy describes, including sharing it with those who can help with your case. Comments on this website are moderated, and we may refuse or remove them.

9. Our content

The app, website, guides and our name belong to us or those who license them to us. You may use them for your own needs and share guides to help others. You may not resell them or present them as your own.

10. Suspending or ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in My data, or at https://app.viglantgo.com/delete-account. This cannot be undone. Our Privacy Policy explains the few things we keep.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk. Where it is safe to do so, we will tell you why. We may change or stop parts of the service. We will try to give you notice of a major change, so that you can download your data.

11. Liability

We provide the service with care, but as it is and as available. We do not promise that it will always work or be free of errors.

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for losses caused by agencies, employers or other third parties, for decisions you make using a job check result, for failures of networks or other companies' services, or for indirect losses. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it arose.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.

12. Changes to these terms

We will change the date on this page when we update these terms and, for important changes, tell you in the app before they take effect. If you do not accept a change, you can stop using the service and delete your account.

13. Law and disputes

Kenyan law applies. Please contact us first, so we can try to settle any dispute. If we cannot, the courts of Kenya will decide it. This does not take away any right you have to bring a complaint to a regulator. If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
